Professional Journey and Skill Development
I did my graduation, MBBS and post-graduation, MS (General Surgery) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. I got excellent training in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery during the MS. The Urology rotations and Kidney Transplant program during MS got me interested in the field of Urology and Kidney transplant. I furthered my knowledge and skills in the same field at various centres of excellence in Delhi and NCR – Medanta: The Medicity Hospital, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and Institute of Liver and Biliary Science.

Before pursuing super-speciality training in Urology, I secured the Endourology Society Fellowship for research and clinical observership for one year at New York, NY in the field of prostate cancer research. I was involved in the clinical outcomes research, MRI use in diagnosis and management of prostate cancer, development of novel tools for intra-operative peri-prostatic nerve monitoring and novel genetic studies in prostate cancer.

I did my MCh in Urology from PGIMER, Chandigarh from 2015 to 2018 where I received training in basic and advanced urological procedures including endoscopic, open and laparoscopic procedures as well as exposure to robotic surgery. After MCh, I joined as Associate Consultant in Urology and Kidney Transplant at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital where I worked in team of 3 Urologists managing all sorts of urological diseases and Kidney Transplant patients. I got promoted to Consultant post after a year at the same hospital.

For one year, I worked as consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon at Health City Cayman Islands. I was the only urologist there and ran the department smoothly doing high end specialised urological procedures. I successfully started complicated procedures like laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy at this centre. I provided the patients with the latest in stone surgeries – flexible uretero-renoscopy, supine and mini-PNL and using laser for stone surgeries. I successfully represented the Kidney Transplant Department at the Government Transplant Committee meeting in order to start Kidney Transplant services in Cayman Islands.

My field of interest include urologic oncology, endourology, laparoscopy and minimally invasive procedures in urology and kidney transplant surgery. I am doing other urological work like reconstructive urology, urodynamics and female urology as well. I believe in providing the best and latest in care to my patients. I strive to continue gaining further experience in the field of Urology and Kidney transplant and contribute as much as I may to this field.
